Weihnachtsmarkt is a German-style Christmas market with a Texas twist, held indoors at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center. It's modeled on the open-air Christmas markets of Germany, minus the open air. It's also the biggest annual fundraiser for the Sophienburg Museum & Archives, and all proceeds go to museum operations and educational programming.
More than 60 merchants and artisans sell authentic German collectibles and ornaments, unique decorations, specialty gifts, apparel, and antiques. Around the shopping are special events: a Gala with exclusive shopping, dinner, a full bar, and live music; a Kaffeeklatsch with coffee, a sweet pastry, and a hands-on Christmas craft (ages 16 and older); a Holiday Tea with full English afternoon tea service; and American Mahjong open play for those who already know the game.
Breakfast With Santa includes breakfast, arts and crafts, and photos with Santa. Each booking covers one seated child and one standing adult, and any extra adults need a $15 market admission.
