Down Home Christmas at The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center in Boerne is a farm-flavored holiday outing. Take an antique tractor hayride, visit the animals at the petting zoo, watch a working blacksmith, and listen to live bluegrass.
Santa poses for professional photos next to a tractor (he's flexible about his ride). Kids can decorate cookies and Christmas tree ornaments and get their faces painted, and every child goes home with a candy-filled stocking. Look for Texas's largest antique toy tractor collection, too.
Admission is a suggested donation of $10 per person. Hot cocoa and popcorn are on hand, and there are Christmas crafts to shop if you want to take a little something home. It's aimed at families with young children, so bring the kids and plan to stay a while.
