Kinder Fest is a child-friendly Christmas weekend in downtown Boerne, put on by the Boerne Retail & Restaurant Owners Association. Everyone is encouraged to show up in ugly Christmas sweaters, silly Christmas pajamas, and Whoville hairdos, so dig out the worst sweater you own.
Watch the Iceman carve a holiday ice sculpture at The Shoppes at 222 on S. Main Street, or come back later in the afternoon to see the finished piece. The Santa Scavenger Hunt is free: pick up a passport at a participating business, search for Santa at each shop along the Hill Country Mile, and drop off your finished passport for a drawing for a child's dream gift basket. Christmas Market Days on Main Plaza has booths for gift shopping.
The Cookie Crawl is ticketed. Each ticket gets your child a Christmas cookie at about a dozen participating downtown stores, plus a commemorative bag, and all ticket money goes to funding the Christmas events.
